Job Summary:
Responsibilities:
- Communicate ESG risk management and strategy initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare reports and presentations for the Board of Directors, management teams, and external parties as required.
- Stay informed on global sustainability trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and strategic alignment.
1. ESG Risk Assessment and Integration
- Integrate ESG-related risks into the enterprise risk management system, ensuring comprehensive risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Identify and analyze emerging ESG risks, advising on potential impacts and response strategies.
- Develop and oversee the governance of new and emerging non-HSEC (Health, Safety, Environment, and Community) issues, such as human rights.
2. Strategic Analysis and Development
- Conduct gap analyses against ESG raters’ requirements and industry peers to identify areas for improvement and strategic opportunities.
- Collaborate with various functions to develop a cohesive ESG strategy that aligns with the organization's overall objectives.
- Govern the setting of long-term targets for material ESG topics, ensuring they are ambitious, measurable, and aligned with industry best practices.
3. Supplier Lifecycle Management
- Embed ESG factors into the supplier selection process, performance reviews, and ongoing monitoring procedures.
- Conduct thorough ESG risk assessments for tier-1 suppliers, ensuring alignment with the company’s sustainability standards and objectives.
- Develop and refine criteria for supplier engagement and evaluation, focusing on sustainability performance and risk mitigation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Advanced degree or professional certification in sustainability, risk management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of global sustainability trends, standards, and reporting frameworks.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in sustainability, ESG risk management, or a related field, preferably in the electric utilities, metals & mining, or oil & gas industries.
- Experience in working with international sustainability standards and frameworks such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, IFRS etc.
- Proven experience in integrating ESG practices into business strategies and supply chain management.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams and projects.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
