Internship Qualifications
• Undergraduate students currently studying in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year, depending on the requirements of each position. Graduate students are also welcome to apply.
• Minimum GPA of 2.75.
• Demonstrate a “Can-Do Attitude” and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities:
Position: Internship
Department: MED
Company: Banpu
- Research and propose environmental improvement projects related to mine environment and mine closure management, including water balance, surface water and groundwater management, acid and metalliferous drainage (AMD), mine waste, rehabilitation and biodiversity.
- Explore the development of environmental management systems for mining businesses, with emphasis on mine closure management systems, mine water management, AMD prevention and control, environmental monitoring, compliance obligations, and continual improvement under ISO 14001 or equivalent frameworks/standards.
- Research and select suitable software or data visualization tools for tracking mine environmental and closure performance data, including water quality, water balance, AMD indicators, rehabilitation, and biodiversity.
- Develop charts, graphs, dashboards, and other visual tools to interpret and communicate environmental performance data, including water quality trends, discharge performance, groundwater and surface water monitoring results, AMD risk indicators, rehabilitation, and mine closure progress.
- Support environmental improvement plans related to mine water management, AMD prevention and treatment, environmental monitoring programs, rehabilitation planning, mine closure management system implementation, and environmental compliance follow-up.
- Explore and explain new requirements, related environmental standards for mine environmental performance reporting.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, mining engineering, water resources, hydrogeology, chemistry, geology, environmental management, or a related field.
- Technical understanding of mine environmental management, including water management, water quality monitoring, AMD generation and control concepts, rehabilitation, mine closure management systems, and/or environmental management systems such as ISO 14001.
- Good written, analytical, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to summarize technical environmental and mine closure information clearly for management review.
- Familiarity with Excel, Power BI, or similar data visualization tools, as well as Canva or related tools for preparing dashboards, reports, communication materials, and environmental awareness content.
