We are currently recruiting for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer that wants to take their geotechnical career to the next level and secure a role with our Lake Macquarie based operation, Mandalong Mine.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, your responsibilities will include

• Manage and implement the Ground or Strata Failure Management Plan 
• Design and assessment of underground roadways
• Design and implementation of strata control measures
• Developing hazard plans
• Interpretation of surface to seam and inseam boreholes
• Strata monitoring data collection, database management and data analysis
• Reporting non-compliances and developing remediation plans

Suitable candidates will have

• Tertiary Qualifications in Geotechnical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years previous experience working across geotechnical investigation, design, and analysis, preferably working in underground coal mining
• Sound computer literacy skills and proficiency in AutoCAD and geological / geotechnical databases
• Excellent work ethic and attendance record
• Commitment to site safety, operational practices, and mine production targets
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
