About the Role

 

Centennial are currently recruiting for a Payroll Manager to join our Corporate Services team and oversee day to day payroll activities across our operations. Working from our Fassifern based corporate office, this full-time role provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to take their career to the next level. 

 

Reporting to the Senior Business Analyst, Corporate Services, you will be responsible for


•    Ensuring the accuracy, eligibility and timeliness of payments in accordance with Awards, Agreements, Employment Contracts, organisational policies and other relevant legislation
•    Overseeing and monitoring annual projects such as performance payments, payroll tax
•    Guiding and supporting the development of enhancements to payroll system and procedures
•    Managing and training a team of Payroll Officers to provide effective management of end-to-end payroll process, ensuring delivery of core functions
•    Liaising with internal and external auditors to ensure relevant data is reported in the appropriate formats
•    Ensuring accurate preparation and lodgement of workers' compensation, long service leave, payroll tax and superannuation payments
•    Overseeing preparation of monthly management reports based upon information generated from within the payroll systems
•    Resolving enquiries relating to payroll from across the Company

Suitable candidates will have


•    Proven experience (5+ years) working in a similar payroll leadership position (managing a minimum payroll > 1,000 employees)
•    Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
•    Proven leadership and mentoring skills
•    Excellent computer proficiency, including the MS Office suite and advanced use of Excel
•    In-depth knowledge of payroll legislation and processes including tax, superannuation, and long service leave
•    Ability to communicate complex topics to a wide range of audiences, both written and verbal
•    An organised and reliable work ethic
•    Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in the workplace
•    Accounting qualifications, previous use of Pulse Payroll or time and attendance system implementation, and previous experience in the mining industry may be advantageous
