Health Safety Training & Compliance Coordinator - Northern Coal Services

We are currently recruiting for a Health Safety Training & Compliance Coordinator that wants to build a lucrative career in the mining industry and support the HST requirements of our Northern Coal Services operation in the Lake Macquarie region.

Conveniently located in the Lake Macquarie region, a short drive from Newcastle and the Central Coast, this role is an excellent opportunity to work in a surface-based mining operation.
 

Reporting to the NCS Manager, your responsibilities include

• Support the Site Management team to implement, maintain, and ensure compliance to the sites Safety Management System
• Manage training programs in compliance with the Coal Services Order 34 Training and Competence Management Scheme
• Maintain safety statistics – Lead & Lag indicators by conducting analysis on safety and health data and compiling relevant reports assist in the site risk management process, facilitating risk assessment work as required
• Liaise with Site Management team and the workforce providing expert advice and be a proactive member of the management team
• Manage and facilitate the site surface induction processes

Suitable candidates will have

• Diploma level or higher - Work Health Safety qualifications (or significant progress toward completing a qualification at this level)
• Cert IV Training and Assessing
• Previous experience working in a health and safety role in mining or heavy industry
• Previous experience working with controlled documents
• Strong computer literacy and MS Office skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Commitment to site safety and mine operational practices
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Robust ability to persuade and influence others to adhere to rules and instructions
• Statutory qualifications and experience using Pulse OHS may be advantageous
