Deputy - Mandalong

About the Role

We are currently looking for Production Team Leader (Deputy) that want to build a lucrative career in the mining industry and secure a role with our northern based operation – Mandalong Mine.

Conveniently located in the Lake Macquarie region, a short drive from Newcastle and the Central Coast, this role is an excellent opportunity to work in an underground based mining operation.

This key operational role presents the opportunity for qualified and committed personnel to contribute directly to the success of Mandalong’s mining operations and open the door to a secure future. 

Reporting to the Shift Undermanager, your responsibilities will include:

•    Carrying out inspections within your area of responsibility
•    Participating in effective pre and post shift handovers
•    Completing shift reports precisely and accurately
•    Conducting pre-shift address with your crew members, ensuring their understanding and adherence to the shift plan and awareness of relevant hazards, and required controls
•    Ensuring health, safety and compliance issues are reported to the Undermanager and that crew members follow the correct reporting process on site
•    Positively influencing the working culture of your crew through driving urgency and ownership of results, and through coaching and mentoring

Suitable candidates will have

•    NSW Deputy’s Certificate of Competency / Mutual Recognition (or higher)
•    NSW Deputy’s Practising Certificate
•    Compliance to the Learning and Completion Hours of the Maintenance of Competence for Practising Certificates
•    Excellent work ethic and attendance record
•    Commitment to site safety, operational practices, and mine production targets
•    Strong leadership experience
