Control Systems Technician - Springvale

About the Role

We are currently seeking a motivated Control Systems Technician to join the site Engineering team at our western based operation – Springvale Colliery.

In this role you will be reporting to the Control Systems Coordinator, and working as an effective member of the mine Electrical team. The successful applicant will support the implementation, maintenance, and optimisation of electrical and electronic control systems across the site. A strong focus on safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement is essential.

Reporting to the Control Systems Coordinator, your role will be responsible for

•    Supporting the mine Electrical and Engineering teams to deliver planned maintenance activities
•    Implementing and maintaining electrical and electronic control systems
•    Providing production and breakdown response to support business plan targets
•    Supporting daily and weekly maintenance and control systems strategies
•    Assisting with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), SCADA, communications, and video systems
•    Engineering software and hardware management
•    Maintaining a strong commitment to site safety standards and compliance
•    Working within a 24/7 operational environment

Suitable candidates will have

•    Electrical trade qualification (Engineering qualification desirable)
•    Experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
•    Strong electrical fault-finding skills
•    Ability to interpret complex electrical schematics
•    Commitment to safety, operational practices, and production targets
•    Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team
•    A proactive and reliable work ethic

•    Citect SCADA
•    Industrial networks including VLAN
•    Fibre optic installation and fault finding
•    Instrumentation equipment
